The formulations introduced are the most popular ones, including sho-saiko-to (H09), which is undergoing clinical phase II trials under two IND's from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). A total of 30 professional Kampo formulas and 10 OTC consumer Kampo formulas are available for the US market.
Partnered with China's Kanion Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Honso USA has introduced the innovative softgel formulas in 2005. Softgel technology enables TCM formulas to be absorbed quickly, with improved bioavailability and higher patient compliance. In 2007, Honso introduced its cardiovascular product CardioShen manufactured by Tasly. The advanced technology of dripping pills used in CardioShen significantly improved bioavailability of the blood moving herbs for heart health.
In the beginning of 2009, Honso launched its largest product line of over 60 Chinese herbal formulas under the brand of TCMzone.
